Sendo o principal evento da vela jovem do país, a Copa da Juventude 2023 será realizada no YCSA (Yacht Club Santo Amaro) – SP. A cerimônia de abertura está prevista para o dia 29 de janeiro e o VDS já tem seus representantes na competição, que embarcaram nesta quinta-feira (26) para São Paulo. Para o período da competição, está disposta a seguinte programação:

 

No domingo (29), serão realizadas, entre 10h até 17h, as confirmações das inscrições, aclimatação, medições de equipamentos e treinos. A cerimônia de abertura está prevista para às 11:30h do mesmo dia. Já na segunda (30), das 09h às 17h, ocorre a mesma programação, exceto pela abertura.

 

Na terça-feira (31), iniciam as regatas às 13h, antecedidas pela reunião com os competidores e técnicos às 10h da manhã. O limite de inscrição vai até as 11h deste mesmo dia. De quarta (01) até sexta (03) de fevereiro, a organização se mantém a mesma, com reunião às 10h e regata às 13h. Com as regatas ocorrendo às 11h da manhã de sábado (04), a cerimônia de encerramento acontecerá no mesmo dia às 19:30h.

 

O evento será seletivo para ingresso no Programa de Vela Jovem da CBVela com gestão do Conselho Técnico de Vela Jovem e da Diretoria da CBVela que inclui entre outros objetivos, avaliações para a formação da Equipe Brasileira de Vela Jovem (EBVJ) que irá representar o Brasil no Campeonato Mundial da Juventude, a ser realizado em 2023, em local a ser definido pela World Sailing, conforme Aviso de Regata a ser divulgado pela organização. A competição também fará parte do processo seletivo para o Mundial da Juventude.

A XXIX Copa da Juventude é uma realização da Confederação Brasileira de Vela, da Federação de Vela do Estado de São Paulo e do Yacht Club Santo Amaro. Os atletas do VDS recebem apoio do Comitê Brasileiro de Clubes (CBC).
